Price Increases, August Classes and Future Plans, Oh My!

Usually August is a bit uneventful as we all get back into routine and get ready for school to start. Not the case this August, we’ve got a lot going on at CMS!

First, as of August 1, 2011, the prices of our Copic Markers will increase. This comes directly from the manufacturer, .Too and is applicable to every single Copic retailer. The price will increase approx. 50 cents per marker, sets will see an adjustment as well. .Too is located in Japan, we ask that you keep them in your prayers are their country recovers from the terrible difficulties they have had to face in the wake of the tsunami and nuclear crisis. You can beat the price increase by placing an order at Copic Marker Scrapbooking BEFORE August 1.

Next up- Classes!! We had FANTASTIC classes in July!! Over 88 students logged in and learned about their Copic Markers. I must admit, my favorite class to teach last month was advanced class. We had such a great time learning new techniques and color selections! Here’s what we’ve got this month:

Saturday August 13th 2011:
11 am: Copic Beginner Classes: Learn basic product knowledge, basic blending techniques and construct a greeting card. No previous experience required.  Price: FREE

12:15 pm: Intermediate Copic Blending Techniques: Learn more in depth blending techniques and how to apply them to your projects. Price: FREE

1:45 pm: Advance Copic Techniques: All About Backgrounds. Learn how to optimize your images with background techniques, effects and ideas. Price: $7 to public, payable at WizIQ or Free to CMS Members.

Please sign up for class by emailing hurricaneheron@gmail.com. If you do not include which classes you wish to sign up for, your email will be deleted and you will not be invited. If you have questions about class, please post it as a comment in this blog, not via email.

Now, onto the upcoming news! In August, in addition to our blog having it’s customary tutorials and freebies, it will also feature guest posts and projects from our fantastically talented Design Team. Watch for some of their outstanding projects!

Alrighty, I think I’ve rambled on at everyone enough. Here’s a freebie for you, it’s one by Kathie Zaban of Beary Wishes.  For more of her great freebies, visit her blog!

I love and train flying monkeys, color with copics, scrapbook what I color, read like a fiend and enjoy every minute of it. I'm a New Yorker that sought better weather, and I enjoy crafting outside by my pool and walking the beach.
